User Experience Best practices Research
My supervisor tasked me to distill my UX knowledge into short and easy to read slides to share with the teams on new UX methodologies in the field. Thus I have filtered through various best practices and also introduced new methodologies as Accessibility Integration , Information Architecture Testing Methods, and E-Service integration.
Here are some of the research that was presented to the team
Jira
During the first week, I was introduced to Jira which was a task management tool that help us to track sprints.
User Interviews
I was tasked to listen through some of the recorded interviews and come up with new insights and qualitative ideas that the interviewees had given and come up with user stories based on their experiences.
Card Sorting Workshops
The client wanted to restructure the Information Architecture of their website. Thus I was tasked to condense the website headers into Cards for the Card Sorting Workshop. I was roped in to facilitate the workshop to ask inquisitive questions with my UX background to value-add to the discussions at hand.
Tree testing Workshops
As we slowly did more workshops, the efforts of creating the cards has increased because of the changes of headers and categories. Thus I approached my supervisors if we can work on Treejack instead because it would require less manual labor but it would mean that laptops would have to be present for the Information Architecture workshops instead.
Atomic and Molecule Design
I was given a Design system which consist of the font size and type, the colours to be used and was tasked to come up with an Atomic Design based on that. Using the Atoms, I was able to create Molecules and Pages later on to aid in the creation of quick prototypes on Figma for A/B Testing.
Distilling Information
After each UX activity, there would a list of qualitative insights and important points to take note of. It was my job to collate these insights and weed out information that we already know, highlight new points and any new trends that is found, and compile them into slides for the client's consumption. During this step, certain learning points, pain points and advice for further actions are proposed as well.
Presentations to Clients
After distilling insights, this information is presented to the clients and we provide justifiable actions, answer lingering questions and direct the client's goal towards the overall experience of the users. (Because sometimes the client's plan might act contrary to their customer's experiences)
